I recently discovered J.R. Erickson and was intrigued by the subject matter of her books. This is the first one I have listened to, and I was not disappointed.
Elizabeth Phillips also did a phenomenal job of narrating this audiobook. Aspects of her performance will send shivers down your spine.
Iris Walsh is a young lawyer who lives in the UP of Michigan with her grandmother. After a night out, she crashes her car after seeing man being chased by a dark figure. Upon returning home, she discovers she has the gift of being able to see the dead.
Over the years, people in and around town have been going missing, including her brother.
She imbeds herself into the investigation of the disappearance of the man she saw being chased, navigating the many mysteries in the town. There are many twists and turns that will leave you guessing. Who can she trust? What is really going on here?
There is folklore mixed in with this tale, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I will definitely be looking for more books by J.R. Erickson in the future.
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
