Shawn was 5 in 1983. He tells a lie about one of his teachers, which sets off a chain reaction of events that culminates in one teacher’s suicide, and the destruction of many lives.
30 years later, Shawn, now Richard, is an art teacher. Events start taking place that are eerily similar to the events of 1983. Someone seems to want to destroy Richard’s life, but who, and why?
I remember the Satanic Panic of the early 80's as well as the fear and paranoia that seemed to coat everything from board games to Saturday morning cartoons.
This was an okay read. I was expecting more or a suspense/thriller, and while it is that on some levels, it doesn’t have a great follow-through. I listened to the audiobook for this, which is probably the only reason I finished it.
